About this notice

This notice explains the cookies and similar technologies used on River Arts Observatory website (riverartsobservatory.com), and the choices you have. It does not cover the separate Obsera application.

Strictly necessary

These are required for the website to work, for example keeping your session secure when you sign in or join. They are not used for analytics or advertising.

Counting visits, without cookies

We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, from Vercel, which hosts the website. It does not use cookies or store anything on your device, and it does not identify you. It records the page visited, the website that sent you, and general information such as your country, device type and browser. To tell one visit from another it uses a code worked out from the request, which is discarded within a day.

We also count a few actions on the site, such as sending an enquiry or starting a membership checkout, in the same anonymous way. The information you type into a form is never sent to analytics.

Google Analytics, only if you accept

When you first visit, we ask whether we may use Google Analytics cookies. Nothing from Google Analytics loads unless you choose Accept, and choosing Reject is just as easy.

If you accept, Google Analytics (from Google Ireland Limited) sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by a code, which last up to two years, to recognise your browser on later visits. It records the pages you visit, how you arrived, and general information such as your town or country, device and browser, and the same actions listed above. Google Analytics does not store IP addresses. We have switched off Google signals and advertising features, and we do not use it to identify you.

Your choice is remembered in your browser for twelve months, after which we ask again.

What we do not do

We do not send your Obsera health information, assessments, profiles, observations, check-ins, notes or practices to any website analytics provider. We do not use advertising cookies.

Managing cookies

You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw your consent, Google Analytics stops and its cookies are removed.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how the website works.
